Do I need Yoga props?
If you’re new to Yoga and you want to use props in class it’s best to check with the teacher, studio or gym what props are available to use. Restorative Yoga will generally use props.
If you practice regularly and want to add props to help support and align your body it’s a good idea to have your own. Common props used are bolsters, straps, blocks, bricks, blankets and cushions.
There are also some more ‘unusual’ props like a Yoga wheel, chair, weights, ball, roller, ribbons/silks and ropes. Generally if these are used in a class you will be asked to bring them or they will be provided.
Top tip - props are not for beginners they are for everyone to use to help support, advance or deepen their practice.
